OUR SHOEBOX MINISTRY IS STILL ALIVE IN 2010!
Items needed for the 2010 shoe box Samaritan Purse ministry have come in and we find that we have enough
plastic shoe boxes as well as items to fill them to over flowering! If you are filling them at home and want a list
to help you in deciding what to put in your boxes please find a green brochure in the ShoeBox located in the
vestibule of the church. Please note that we are planning on shipping 432 boxes this year at the cost of $7 per
box so we are still in need of your monetary donations.

FOOD PANTRY~ Thank you to those who have donated to the food pantry. We  know times are hard
and we appreciated your sacrifice. The Banquet Table Food Pantry is in need of cereal, canned soup,
tomato juice, kidney and pork beans, sloppy joe sauce and mustard and mayo.

Support our Troops
Sandy Smith continues to ship off care packages to our soldiers. Four more have been added to her
list so that means more goodies to put in those boxes are needed! Please drop those items off at he
church office. A list of suggested items is in the foyer. AND be sure to give a big thanks to Sandy for
being so faithful with this outreach!

Altar Flowers
If you would like to sign up for altar flowers in 2010 to celebrate a special occasion or in memory of a loved
one, please sign up on the bulletin board by the church office or call the church. You may pick up the flowers
anytime after the morning services or during the week.

FINANCIAL GIVING
As in the past, in order to get proper credit for your 2010 giving and to receive a year end contribution
statement, you must put your offering in a blue offering envelope and fill it out completely, with your first and
last name legibly. If you would prefer an assigned number, rather than filling out your name, call the office.
Thanks!

SWAT BIBLE FUND UPDATE
We have been a fund since 11-01-05, three months shy of five years. Recently we pledged all our funds in our
account through the month of June to July 4th to EFM Missionary Benson Sam in India to buy bibles for his
people there. We are able to do this thanks to your support, prayers and financial, to send Benson enough
money for 150 bibles. This brings us to 2,216 bibles given or placed so far to date. Please continue to pray that
the Holy Spirit continues to move in this Ministry.

LAND OR CELL??
With so many people dropping their land lines and
using their cell phones as their only contact
number we are finding it increasingly difficult to keep numbers current. Please let the office know if you have
a change in your phone number or address. We would like to keep our information as updated as possible

TFC TO HOST NEW COMMUNITY
SCHOOL
The members of TFC met in a special, called Congregational
Meeting on Sunday evening, July 25 to discuss the recommendation of
the Senior Pastor, Elders and Church Council to host the new Van Wert
city schools Lifelinks Community School this fall.
The meeting was well attended.  It began with a brief time of worship
in song.  Pastor Steve then shared some Scriptures and thoughts on
effectively praying for God’s will to be accomplished in the meeting.  He
then led in prayer before turning the service over to our Presiding
Clerk, Larry Adam.
Larry then introduced Van Wert city schools Superintendent Ken
Amstutz to present the background and plans for the Lifelinks school
and how they came to TFC for leasing space in the upper level of our
Family Life Center.  Ken then graciously handled a Question & Answer
time before departing.
After this, Larry gave some background information before opening
the floor for discussion and/or questions.  Many members and non-
member - but TFC attendees - spoke both for and against the use of our
facility for the school.  Many others asked some excellent questions
for further explanation and/or discussion.
Prayers were answered and God was honored that so many could
express their opinions and concerns and excitement and dreams
without disrespect or unkindness.  Although strong differences
obviously existed, everyone exercised good self-discipline, acted in an
orderly fashion and helped the meeting to move to a healthy vote and
decision.
When the vote was called, over ¾’s of the voting members present
voted in support of the proposed lease agreement.
