compassion for others.
''Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant...'' (Matthew 20:26 NIV)
''Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an
inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving'' (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV)

PREGNANCY LIFE CENTER BENEFIT CONCERT!!
Calvary Evangelical Church, for Sanctity of Life, will be sponsoring and hosting a benefit
concert for the Pregnancy Life Center. The evening will feature the husband and wife
group Myrrh. The evening will showcase the contemporary style and vocal harmony of
Bill and Jeanine Murk as well as the musical talent of Bill on the violin. The group has
ten albums to their credit, two of which have been featured in the “Top Ten” on radio
stations around the country. Through a rare combination of vocal/instrumental music
and transparent testimony, Myrrh focuses on building faith in the only one who has the
answers to today’s complex problems. God’s anointing on Myrrh’s ministry moves
people from tears to joy as they share how He has worked miracles in their lives and
sustained them through life’s continuing challenges. Between their inspiring story,
captivating harmonies and Bill’s innovative violin artistry, Myrrh effectively bridges the
musical gap between the generations and offers something for everyone. Don’t miss the
gift of Myrrh! This exciting concert will take place on Sunday January 31st beginning at 6:
oo in the evening at Calvary Evangelical Church. TFC services will be moved to Calvary.
As always the concert will be free. A love offering will be taken with all proceeds
benefiting the Pregnancy Life Center. Watch for more information to come in your local
church. To learn more about Myrrh please visit their website at www.billmurk.com.   BE
IN PRAYER!!!

Upward Update!
God has brought us 309 boys and girls to minister to through Upward Basketball and
Cheerleading this season, a record number for our eighth season. There are many ways
for you to help. Angie Murphy is lining up half-time devotion speakers for each game,
and Florence Nolan always needs many hands in the concession stand. Kay Miller is
recruiting members for the prayer team to pray daily for the kids, their families, and our
coaches and referees. And by all means, come on Saturday and encourage the boys and
girls who are playing and cheering.

FOOD PANTRY~ Thank you to those who have donated to the food pantry. We
know times are hard and we appreciated your sacrifice. The Banquet Table Food
Pantry is in need of cereal, canned soup, tomato juice, kidney and pork beans,
sloppy joe sauce and mustard and mayo.

Support our Troops
Sandy Smith continues to ship off care packages to our soldiers. Four more have
been added to her list so that means more goodies to put in those boxes are
needed! Please drop those items off at he church office. A list of suggested items
is in the foyer. AND be sure to give a big thanks to Sandy for being so faithful with
this outreach!

Altar Flowers
If you would like to sign up for altar flowers in 2010 to celebrate a special occasion or in
memory of a loved one, please sign up on the bulletin board by the church office or call
the church. You may pick up the flowers anytime after the morning services or during
the week.

FINANCIAL GIVING
As in the past, in order to get proper credit for your 2010 giving and to receive a year
end contribution statement, you must put your offering in a blue offering envelope and
fill it out completely, with your first and last name legibly. If you would prefer an assigned
number, rather than filling out your name, call the office. Thanks!
