Pastor Steve Savage
Senior Pastor

Rev. Stephen and Marilee Savage are the
new pastoral couple at Trinity Friends
Church (TFC) in Van Wert. Rev. Savage
has served the past 16 years as Senior Pastor
at Winona Friends Church in Winona, Ohio
in the northeaster part of the state.
Rev. Savage has been nearly 30 years in
pastoral ministry, having served churches
in Iowa, Michigan and Virginia before
coming to Ohio. Rev. Savage assumes his
office as Senior Pastor at TFC on July 1.
Rev. Savage and Marilee have three sons, two daughters-in-law and one grandson.
This will be their first pastoral move without their children.
Rev. Savage and Marilee said, "It's hard moving without our children, and it is
definitely hard leaving our five-month-old grandson, Tyler, behind. But we are
ready for this adventure that God has laid before us. We are excited about
moving to TFC and the Van Wert area. We look forward to making new friends."

Pastor Neil Hammons
Outreach Pastor

Pastor Hammons has served in a pastoral position
at Trinity Friends since 1997. Currently serving as
Outreach Pastor, he aids in delivering the Sunday
messages in the absence of the Senior Pastor. Pastor
Hammons officiates at weddings and funerals, and
heads up the outreach, visitation, and follow-up
ministries of the church. Pastor Hammons has been
involved in church ministry since 1963, and attended
Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne, IN.

Mark Hartman
Director of Ministries

As Director of Ministries, Mark oversees
all activities held in the Family Life Center.
This includes scheduling and overseeing
banquets, parties, and events held in the
Fireside Room, as well as sports and com-
munity events held in the gymnasium.
Major sporting events under his direction
include the Upward Basketball Program,
Legends Basketball, and community sports
events held in the facility. In addition,
Mark serves as the Administrator for the
church's financial and legal issues. He has a Bachelors Degree from Bowling
Green State University, along with years of experience in the area of
management.

Cheryl Schaffner
Director of Christian Education

As Christian Education Director, Cheryl organizes
and directs the operations of all Nursery, Preschool,
Elementary and Adult Education Departments, and
oversees the Library and Hall Monitor Security
Team. She is responsible for the screening of all
volunteers working with minors in the church. She
is a graduate of Wright State University.

Steve Heilshorn
Youth Pastor

Trinity Friends welcomed Steve Heilshorn as youth
pastor in July of 2004. Steve and his wife Leslie
have been married for 20 years and live with their
sons, Samuel and Benjamin, in Paulding. Steve is a
graduate of Defiance High School and a 1986 grad-
uate of Defiance College. Before coming to our
church as Youth Pastor, Steve served as the club
director for Wayne Trace and Paulding junior and
senior high schools for Defiance Area Youth for
Christ for 10 years. In addition to his YFC work, Steve has served in various
coaching capacities at both Paulding and Wayne Trace, including junior high boys
and girls track, 8th grade and freshman boys basketball, junior varsity girls
basketball, junior varsity baseball and varsity golf. His favorite ways to spend
time are with his family, enjoying sports and computers. Steve's goal for Trinity
Friends youth is to see each student grow in their own relationship with our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ as well as sharing Christ's message with their unsaved
friends. Steve also desires for each student in our youth ministries to continue
serving God and be a vital part of their church when they officially have left the
nest.

Mindy Longwell
Office Manager

Mindy, a graduate of Crestview, has been in the
office field nearing twenty years and is effective
in ministry as our front office manager and assistant
to various ministries of TFC. Mindy serves on the
Church Administrative Council, Nominating Com-
mittee and as a Christian Education instructor here
at TFC. She values the privilege of being wife to her
husband, Larry, and the mother of two wonderful
children, Brittany and Isaiah. Mindy is an avid
reader and enjoys praising God for the chance to
serve Him in her everyday life as well as in her
career.
