The Shut In and Nursing Home Ministry at Trinity Frineds is based on the
teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25 which says: "...whatever you did for one of the
least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
It is the desire of the members of this ministry to bring hope and encouragement
to those confined in their home or in an institution.Twelve volunteers serve on a
rotating basis, delivering tapes and church bulletins from the Sunday services to
those who are shut-in at home or in a nursing home facility. As they listen to
services on tape and read the weekly bulletin, shut-ins are able to feel that they
are still a part of what's happening in the church.
In addition, those visiting the elderly spend time in prayer and conversation in
order to lend needed encouragement.
Other members of the Body visit area nursing homes on Sunday afternoons and
conduct regular religious services for the residents of the homes.
