    o        David said that Jesus came from “humble beginnings.”
                    Can you remember any of the details that made him seem so ordinary?
    o        There are a lot of famous and influential people alive today in politics, sports and entertainment.
                    Tiger Woods is a famous golfer today, but can you tell me who
                            won the Masters in 1942? (Craig Wood)
                    Brad Pitt and Angela Jolie are movie stars today, but who won the Oscar for
                            Best Actress in 1942? (Greer Garson for the movie “Mrs. Miniver”)
                    Who is our current president? Who was the 21st president? (Republican Chester Arthur)
    o        Why is that? Why didn’t anyone remember Craig Wood, Greer Garson or President Chester Arthur?
                    Isn’t it amazing the Christ has been gone for over 2000 years yet
                            he is one of the most famous and influential figure in all of history
    o        In the video David described Caesarea Philippi, saying it was a place where a lot of idol
                            worship and pagan rituals took place.
                    Do you remember anything he said about this place?
                            •        A god who was half goat and half man was worshipped there
                            •        People would do all kinds of ungodly practice there
                    Are there any places like Caesarea Philippi in today’s society? How?
    o        Anything that is worshipped above God is false worship (idol worship).
                            God desires for us to worship Him alone.
                    Matthew 16:13-17 (NIV): 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi,
                            he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
                            14 They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others,
                            Jeremiah or one of the prophets." 15 "But what about you?" he asked.
                            "Who do you say I am?" 16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,[a] the
                            Son of the living God." 17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,
                            for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
    o        In the midst of this idol worship in Caesarea Philippi, what were the disciples telling
                            Jesus that people were saying about Him?
                    He was a good profit.
                    He was a good teacher.
                    Etc.
    o        What did Jesus ask His disciples?
                    Who do you say I am?
    o        What did Simon Peter answer?
                    You are the Christ, Son of the Living God.
    o        How do we know this is the right answer?
    o        Why is believing that Jesus is the Son of the Living God,
                            an important decision for each of us to make?

•        Conclusion
    o        Last two weeks we talked about Bible prophecies which proved Christ.
    o        This week we are talking about Christ being the Son of God as well as being God.
    o        For us to say that He is anything but what He claimed would be like us calling Him a lunatic or a liar.
    o        Next week we will look at His claim in more detail as we study the Scriptures.
