The Van Wert Christian Sportsmen is headquartered through Trinity Friends Church and led by lay leaders from within the Body. The public is encouraged to check them out. "Taking the Great Outdoors to a Higher Level", the organization schedules monthly trap shoots, fishing trips, and other outdoor events for families and individuals. Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs is one of our biggest attractions! Spring brings participating parents and kids to learn all about fish and their habitats, drug use prevention, and scripture memorization while we do some angling at local streams and ponds! There's camp fires, roasting hot dogs & marsh mallows, give-aways and lots of fun! Please don't miss this fun-filled program for all! The Monthly Trap Shoot are planned to be picked back up soon on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Van Wert Outdoorsmen's Club by Huggy Bear. Hunter Education classes taught by qualified instructors are offered throughout the year. This course is required for all first time hunting license purchases and informs students about firearms safety, wildlife management, and personal safety. Condensed classes and online home study classes are offered for th convenience of everyone's busy schedules. Call the church to check on the next class scheduled.
